Each problem that I solved became a rule, which served afterwards to solve other problems

Using Protocol workers inside and outside the organisation are able to update project information and documentation anytime, anywhere, from any web browser, enabling project or portfolio managers to know immediately:

  • When milestones are achieved or missed,
  • If budgets are on target or need additional funding,
  • What changes are proposed and which problems are outstanding,
  • Are risks threatening goals and eating into budgets,
  • Who is responsible for what, and
  • When does the project expect to deliver?

These and many other aspects of project management can be managed with Protocol.

Many projects have similar formats so it is useful to replicate the baseline information of those projects by using project templates. These templates can then be improved and applied to future projects, reducing set-up time and providing immediate access to relevant issues, solutions and best practices. Protocol can be deployed with any number of predefined project templates including:

  • The UK government's PRINCE2
  • The UK's Association for Project Management Body of Knowledge
  • Ericsson's project model PROPS
  • The Project Management Institute's body of Knowledge (PMBOK)
  • Or an organisation’s own project management methodology

The introduction of a consistent tool with associated templates across all projects allows globally disparate teams and portfolios to collaborate, communicate, report, and monitor progress more efficiently. Project critical information is then no longer buried and in emails, documents and presentations or inaccessible on personal hard drives. Protocol allows this valuable information to be captured, store, and reused via the library, benefiting the whole project team and adding real value to the portfolio and the entire organisation.
